Justin Jacobs
Pastor

Brother Justin Jacobs came on staff in 2013 as the youth pastor at South Luverne Baptist, serving nine years in this position pouring his heart into our teenagers. He then accepted God's call to become our pastor in October of 2022. Brother Justin is passionate about the gospel and has been married to his wife, Andi, since 2009 and they have two beautiful children: Harper and Carter.

Thomas Clark
Associate/Youth Pastor

Thomas Clark began serving as the Associate/Youth Pastor at South Luverne Baptist Church in May 2023. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Troy University in May 2023 and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Pastoral Ministry from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Thomas loves the Gospel of Jesus Christ and is passionate about evangelism, discipleship, and our Lord’s domestic and international missions. 

Buddy Johnson
Music Leader

Buddy Johnson and his family moved from Mobile to Luverne in 1987 . Buddy volunteered to lead the music at SLBC for almost twenty years before accepting a staff position as Minister of Music in 2012. Now for over thirty years, Buddy has led the music program including Christmas cantatas at SLBC while working full time in Radio and Television. Buddy has been married to his wife, Theresa, for 49 years, and they have three children.

April Wood
Admin Assistant

April began working at South Luverne Baptist Church in September of 2017 as the Administrative Assistant. She assists the ministry teams as well as the daily operations of the church office. April loves what she does and is very grateful that she can be a part of this ministry. She has been married to her husband, Donnie, since 1996 and they have two daughters, Grace and Emily. April's favorite scripture is Isaiah 41:10.

Ben Crook
Pianist

Ben Crook and his wife, Yuan, moved to Troy in the fall of 2023 and quickly found South Luverne Baptist Church. Ben holds degrees from Ball State University, Bowling Green State University, and Florida State University in piano performance. The Crook family is honored to serve God and SLBC through music and worship.
